The former customs building at Vaartkom in Leuven is nowadays a vibrant cultural centre. The building has housed seven professional supralocal cultural organisations since September 2011. They renamed the site Public Warehouse of the Arts (OPEK) and have developed an innovative form of cooperation on top of their individual operation. Since that time, OPEK has been a meeting place where young and less young people produce or experience art, where young talent works together with experienced artists and where an active and motivated audience meets during exhibitions, workshops, master classes, festivals or simply at the bar with a view of Vaartkom. In short, OPEK is an artistic laboratory where art, education and the audience find each other. A place where you can see and do all kinds of things!
