An inspiring visit to Leuven for associations.

From the 14th to the 16th of June, the Leuven Convention Bureau organized an Inspiration Visit. The inspiration visit was organized in collaboration with Visit Flanders Convention Bureau and GentCongres and combines a visit to Ghent en Leuven.

The aim was to promote Leuven, Ghent and Flanders as a conference destination. During the visit, we showcased our unique ecosystem and connected the participants to local ambassadors with a great heart for Leuven.

Day 1

We picked up the participants at the train station by the bike taxi of social organisation 'Buurtwerk 't Lampeke' and took them to Martin's Klooster hotel for a warm welcome, a delicious lunch and presentations on the strengths of Leuven as a conference destination. Afterwards, we visited M Leuven with a breath-taking view from the rooftop terrace overlooking Leuven and the splendid University library. A tour of Leuven's city centre, took the participants to the magnificent Town Hall and University Hall. The visit ended at the renowned Irish College, with a delightful beer tasting experience in the garden, courtesy of Brewery De Coureur. Next up was a visit to the Health House, to discover fascinating innovations in healthcare. The evening concluded with a splendid reception and dinner at the Faculty Club and we wrapped up the night at Oude Markt, known as 'the world's longest bar' to discover the young and vibrant atmosphere.

Day 2

During the Inspiration Visit the participant stayed in three different hotels: Begijnhof Hotel, M-Street Art Lodging, and Pentahotel Leuven. In the morning we gathered for a delightful breakfast at De Maekerij, with a warm welcome by alderman of Tourism, Bert Cornillie. Leuven Leisure, our local DMO, showcased the city's hidden gems during the morning stroll. The Leuven part of the Inspiration Visit came to a memorable end at De Hoorn, with a surprise beer tap course.

We are pleased with the great feedback received by participants, after the event. Interested in joining the next inspiration visit? Let us know!
